House removals, explained simply
A good house move starts well before moving day. We'll ask what you're taking, what's going up or down stairs, and what the parking is like at both ends. If it's a bigger move, we'll do a quick video call or visit so we can see it for ourselves. That way we bring the right van, the right number of people and no surprises.
On the day, we protect your things and your home. Furniture is wrapped in blankets. Mattresses go in covers. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart and put back together if you need it. We load the van so that heavy items sit low and fragile boxes stay safe, and we unload in the order you want.
Whether it's a one bed flat with no lift or a family home with a garage full of tools, we'll treat it like our own move.
Who uses our house removals service
Flat movers
Top floor, no lift, narrow stairs. We see it every week and plan for it.
Families
Bigger moves with lots of rooms, garden furniture and a loft to clear.
Renters on a tight timeline
When your tenancy ends on a fixed day and the keys have to go back.
Downsizers
Help deciding what fits, plus deliveries to family or charity for items you're not taking.
How pricing works
Every house is different, so we don't use a one size fits all price. We work out yours from what your move actually involves.
You'll get a clear written quote before you book. If something changes, like an extra room of items, we'll tell you before it affects the price.
- 01
How much you're moving
The number of rooms and how full they are decides the van size and crew.
- 02
Distance
A move across the road is quicker than a move across the country.
- 03
Access
Stairs, lifts, long carries and parking at both addresses all affect the time it takes.
- 04
Extras
Packing, materials, dismantling and storage are optional. You only pay for what you choose.
- 05
Day and date
Fridays, weekends and month ends are the busiest days to move. Midweek is often easier to book.
Getting ready for moving day
Label boxes with the room they're going to. Keep a separate bag with chargers, medicines, kettle and anything you need on the first night. Empty and defrost the fridge the day before. If your street has permit parking, ask the council about a parking suspension early, as some need a couple of weeks' notice. We're happy to help you work out what you need.
Common questions
Anything else you'd like to know? Call or WhatsApp us and we'll give you a straight answer.
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes. We can bring boxes, tape, bubble wrap and blankets, or pack everything for you. Just add it to your quote.
Will you take apart and rebuild furniture?
Yes. Tell us which items need it when you book so we bring the right tools and allow the time.
What if my new home isn't ready on the day?
Talk to us as soon as you know. We can often hold your things in the van for a short time or arrange storage until you get the keys.
Are my belongings insured during the move?
Yes, your goods are covered while they're with us. Ask us for details of our cover, and let us know about anything of particularly high value before the day.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can, especially for weekends and the end of the month. That said, we do take short notice moves when we have space, so it's always worth asking.
